Tortilla Flat 1/31 9am ride

Hey guys, this is my first ride here, but my friend Chris and I are heading up to Tortilla Flat tomorrow morning. Meeting up at the gas station 1 block north of Power and Germann in Gilbert at 8:30. Kickstands up at 9. I'll be the one on the silver R1.

I'm interested, but what kind of riding is everyone going to be doing?

We're meeting someone else there at 9:15ish so you can just meet us there, either way is cool.

This is going to be a ride at your own pace ride. If you're faster, get up front. If you're slower, stay at the back. If you don't care and just want to relax, then we can do a relaxing ride. I'm decently fast but my friend I'm bringing is a bit slower due to only riding a month, so there will be a mix of experience and speed. I already told him not to feel like he has to keep up, and that goes for everybody. Let's just have some fun!

Pound that into his head tomorrow morning. It is way too easy to get in over your head on that road, especially as a new rider.

Be careful in the last half mile leading up to the restaurant. At that time of morning there will still be a lot of bicyclists on the road too.

I was heading out and saw Jason5150 pink wheels, traffic was bad. Careful going into canyon lake and to the top, your kickstand up time will encounter out of state traffic. Don't ride the center road its pelted with gravel. When you cross the river pass Tortilla Flat Saloon, stay to the left lane (left of the road cone placed in the center) your right lane ends in a deep pot hole six inches deep, 4 feet wide or you will bottom out. The top is great, I did six laps and quit when on coming traffic was at head light view. Ride safe.
