Sounds like you are having a bad customer day Mr. Personality....

I don't understand why anyone using dynabeads would even bring their tires in for a balance in the first place, let alonenot even telling you they are installed. Nor do I understand how they would even function in a tire with green slime.... If this is indeed occurring, why not ask your customer ahead of time before making it harder on yourself.... just don't blame the balls.

I hate that crap... along with two bottles or more of tire slime (in the tire) and not mentioning that as well when the customer comes in to have new tires mounted. Makes for a lot of mess when we break the tire bead and have s**t loads of green s**t blast out onto our feet and floor.

Interestingly, there is a thread going on over at a local Jeep forum where many members put all kinds of beads in their 4x4 tires...basic steel BB's, airsoft BB's, Wallyworld generic BB's, etc. A lot of people are doing it and they seem to like the results. The composition of the BB itself (steel or plastic) only seems to impact the amount you put in each tire.

Over on ADV there's a multi page thread about these. I look at it like an oil thread, some love em, some hate em. To each their own I say. It's your ride. I'm not against them by any means.

Me, I have a tire machine and a static balancer in the garage and can balance a tire pretty quick. I"ll keep doing that way. I mark the heavy spot of the rim WITHOUT a tire(not always the valve BTW) and IF the tire is marked with a heavy or light spot I take the appropriate action. If I need to add what I consider too much weight ( more than a 1/2 oz) I'll pop the tire and spin it. Its a matter of experience as I've done quite few tires in my life.

One I do dislike as alluded to in a prior post is "slime" or any other tire sealant such as fix a flat et all. I understand the need for it to get to a shop but I sure hated doing tires when that stuff was in it. Took us forever to clean wheels. Hard to make money on a flat rate job such as a tire change.
